The character development is intense and complex, yet the the story flows effortlessly. It was a culmination of two people- their lives, their loves, their losses, their hurts, their pains, their families, their struggles, their fights, their truths and yes even their lies.Sometimes it takes a loss or the threat of something that we hold very dear being taken away from us, to make us appreciate what we have right in front of us.
In spite of the past, some things can not be denied. Luke and Ava have a strong emotional and at times electric pull to each other. Yet as any electrician will testify to, the shock is not always welcome, but the current can move so fast and with so much power that you can't control it.
One of my favorite quotes:
"There are lies in love, just as much as there are truths."
This brings to several questions - Is it ever okay to lie? What if the lie was said to protect the ones you love or perhaps even yourself? Is an omission a lie? Can you be saved from being hurt by not knowing the truth?
The result of reading books written by MJ Fields, for me, is that I sit and ponder questions about life, love, family and friends. How would I feel if ..? How would I react? Her books provoke thought and feelings to the nth degree.
In typical #foreverFields fashion, the readers are not only given two main characters whom we fall in love with, love to hate, or a combination of the two, but we're given the supporting characters that have the potential for their own story to be told. In this book little Piper is a perfect example. While her character was not a focal point to the overall story, she is a refreshing light and I hope to read about her more in the future works of MJ Fields, as well as Logan and London's story.
