5 Wickedly Destroyed🌟's

MJ has managed to turn a character that I couldn't stand from her previous book,
Hammered: Steel Country #1,  into someone that I'm rooting for .. unbelievable!

She was able to flip my opinion by opening my eyes to the circumstances and issues that got both Garrett & Juliana to where they were in life. For me this is both a reality check and a humbly experience. It's a a reminder that we should NOT judge one another . You never know why someone has done something until you walk in their shoes, face what they've had to face and endure what they've had to endure. I should never assume that just because I've been blessed with a good life that others have had the same opportunities. This world can be cruel and hateful and these characters have been on the receiving end of it in the worst of ways.

As a parent, I find myself asking:

How far would you be willing to go to ensure your child gets what he/she needs?

Just as important is the realization that your past does NOT define you! It may shape you, but it should NEVER define you!

Mags continues to be embedded in my heart with her sage advice.

This story shows an evolution of friends to enemies and back again. Miscommunications or simply lack of communication takes a toll on the Falcon family unit as a whole. Abuse, heartache and tears were unavoidable as I immersed myself in the tangled webs of deceit throughout this book.

Garrett's actions are what some may describe as unacceptable; he's been wronged - in too many ways to count. Perhaps his path took a wrong turn, but regardless of the route he's traveled, it has led him to Falcon's Landing and back to his brothers. His passion is so strong and steadfast. He knows what he wants and he's not afraid to go after it.

Juliana has experienced hurt and heartache with every turn she takes. Yet, she's a fighter and she's not afraid to do what she has to do in order to make things right for her child.

Little Brand stole my heart. He's a go-getter. Kids are resilient but the manner that he takes everything in stride is simply amazing. The confusion and hurt are there, and while he may lack the ability to truly understand it all, what he does give is acceptance. It's heartfelt and heartwarming to what the transformation in his life.

Sometimes you have to hit rock bottom, become completely #Destroyed, in order to find what you've been looking for your whole life!

In the end the kids may 'Steel' the show (from #friendshipseeds to #littlelady, Brands already got it covered), but the passion, hurt and healing is what will forever stay in my mind! And of course, Garrett's dirty talking too! 😉😜

He's so demanding. He's a straight shooter, calling it like it sees it & wants it back on an equal exchange.

Phoenix Star is feisty, never backing down and ready to take on the world. She keeps Gage on his toes for sure. #dontfightthefall

Both Phoenix & Gage have so much in common - both are protectors and fixers, putting others before themselves - selfless!

Gage has heartache, pain & loss everywhere he turns, but the Men of Steel have his back & I thoroughly enjoyed their brief parts in this story. Any day you can read #MOS is not just a good day, but a great one!

There were times when I wanted to throat punch Gail Falcon & Juliana. My heart hurt for Gage & Brand and all that they've been forced to endure.

I loved Mags and all that she did and said. She can be full of piss and vinegar but she loves hard and lives to love. She's a peacemaker. She's cherished by everyone who crosses her path, well except maybe the nurses LOL!

While MJ touched on the brothers of Gage Falcon, Garrett & Grayson, we're sure to find out more in her future releases.

Some many characters were involved in this book, but each one is introduced in what appears to be a seemingly effortless flow, and you don't feel overwhelmed with them all, but feel as though your family just got a little bigger and there's always room for more .. and with MJ, she always gives you more!!

I floved the foreplay while learning to drive stick shift and the storm scene was epic. And don't get me started with the beard riding and the table when Phoenix's head was hanging off .. gah .. fucking H.O.T!!!

I found myself holding my breath waiting to see what would happen next. There were moments when I would find myself waiting for the bomb to drop. I just knew something bad was going to happen, but I couldn't tell to whom or when. This kept me reading to the very end without putting the book down.

Shadow's take command attitude with Mary was H.O.T. His alpha tendencies had my Kindle sizzling from the beginning.

I felt the raw emotions and vulnerability of the characters throughout the book. I love watching the transformation of the characters when they now love what wasn't important to them earlier in the story.

Mary found it hard to see good in herself. She felt the weight of her past, her hurts and her troubles on her. It was easier for her to believe the negative thoughts rather than listening to what others were telling her. It was hard for her to see what other people saw in her when she truly didn't believe it in her heart.

A pivotal point for me as a reader was during the following interaction:

"I promise you, we aren't just lying in wait."
The way he said it was calm, but the anger, the rage, all of his emotions were easily seen in his eyes. The one emotion I did not see was fear. In that, I find hope.

That's what I like about books that MJ Fields has written .. in them I find hope .. hope for a happy ending, hope for a better tomorrow, hope for being a better me, hope for moving past the pain, simply hope!
